Residents old and new share some of their recollections of Buckden over the decades
Wartime Childhood Memories of Buckden Residents
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-day Jane and Andy Scott from the Monday Club recorded childhood memories of some Buckden residents into a booklet. These varied personal stories give an insight into life as a child during World War 2.
Jane and Andy have kindly allowed these stories to be published on the BLHS website to ensure their memories will not be forgotten.

Where the Beauty Room is now on Church Street, the Pipes had their grocery shop there from 1945 to 1966.

Ivelbury House
Cecilia Sharpley (nee Ashton) lived in Ivelbury House, now Ivelbury Close, in the early 1950s. She moved with her family to Australia but remembers her time there with affection
George Arthur Smith
